The most common problems when connecting Instagram and how to solve them

If Instagram won't connect, most often the problem is not with the connecting step itself, but with one simple detail: the account is not professional, you are logged in to a different profile, or there is an old session left in the browser. This can usually be checked right away.

Check if the account is Business or Creator

You need a professional account to connect. If your account is private, first change it to Business or Creator in your Instagram settings.

If you don't remember what type of account you have, go to your profile and check your account settings. This is the first step worth starting before your next attempt.

Please make sure you are logged in to the correct profile

If you have several accounts, it's easy to choose the wrong profile you want to connect. Pay attention to your username, profile picture, and whether you actually log in to the account you post from every day.

  • Log out of other Instagram accounts if you have several saved in your browser.
  • Check the profile name before confirming the connection.
  • If you're using a phone and a computer, make sure you select the same profile on both devices.

Old sessions and saved logins can get in the way

Sometimes the browser remembers the previous login and the connection ends with the wrong profile or does not complete. In such a situation, the easiest way is to close unnecessary tabs and start with a fresh login.

It's worth making a clean start

If you have already tried to link your account, log out, refresh the page and log in again with the correct profile. This is often enough to make the connection click.

Don't confuse the Instagram connection with Facebook

Instagram connects separately, even if you also use Facebook Page. Just because you have Facebook connected doesn't mean Instagram is ready to post.

If you're switching from one channel to another, stop for a moment and check that you're linking to Instagram and not a Facebook page. This is a common source of confusion.

Refresh the connection and check the result again

  1. Go back to the "Accounts" tab.
  2. Start linking Instagram again.
  3. Log in with the correct Instagram account.
  4. After confirmation, check that you see the exact profile you want to connect.

If you have already linked your account, it may be helpful to go through the process again from the beginning. For the user, it's usually faster than trying to find a small mistake step by step.

When the problem occurs after a failed publication, use the alert in the "Publication Panel". The repair button takes you to "Accounts" with the correct platform in the foreground, so you don't have to search for the setting manually.

If it still doesn't work, start with the simplest check

Finally, go back to the basics: account type, correct profile, fresh login and correct connection channel. These four things most often determine whether Instagram can be connected without any problems.

If everything looks good and the connection still doesn't go through, try again after a short break. Sometimes it helps to simply restart the entire process with a clean screen.
